Of all the jobs we can do on the planet, I have to say that parenting is the most important one. So naturally, we would want to be in the best place possible when our children are born or when they come into our lives through adoption or blending of families. Most of the time we are young and parenting is a scary endeavor. To make matters more challenging, parents rarely are on the same page with how to set rules and define boundaries. Good parenting takes dedication, conscientious learning and a great deal of patience and compassion. A counselor can of course facilitate the communication on helping parents see eye to eye. Once the parents find agreement on how to parent and even on how to love each other in a deeper way, many of the problems that the kids have will resolve much easier. I’m happy to help parents and caregivers work through any of the following types of issues:
- Conflicts and Disagreement
- Blended Families
- Separation and Divorce
- Intimacy Issues
- Abuse, Neglect and Domestic Violence by Partner or Nonpartner
- Bereavement
- Housing, Employment, Economic or Educational Stress
- Social and Multicultural Issues
- Victim of Crime or Other Legal System Matters
- Religious quarrels
